Peddler, Itinerant Merchants and Solicitors Requirements

Peddlers, itinerant merchants and solicitors must obtain a permit from the Village Office between the hours of 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m., Monday-Friday


A two-week notice must be given so that background checks can be conducted on each peddler, itinerant merchants and solicitors by the police department.  


Peddlers, itinerant merchants and solicitors who have been granted permits may go door to door from 9:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m., Monday-Saturday. No door to door is allowed on Sunday or any state or national holiday.


Each peddler, itinerant merchant or solicitor must have in their possession their permit and upon request must present to homeowners.


The Village of Mackinaw does not allow energy companies to solicit in the village limits due to being under an electrical aggregation.


If any complaints are received the permit will be revoked and the peddler, itinerant merchant or solicitor will be asked to leave.
